Choosing an Online Photographic Workshop

, Posted in: Photographers, Author: guest (October 28, 2009)

There so many people out there that have digital cameras, but don’t know how to use them.  They get a bit overwhelmed by all the different camera settings at their disposal and get stuck.

There are lots of photography books out there, but so many of them seem to be a bit outdated and not relevant to today’s issues.  There are plenty of online sites, but even with those sometimes it’s hard to tell whether or not they’re legit.

Is the site run by a real honest to goodness commercial photographer or is it a hobbyist that’s teaching as they learn the ropes themselves?

Just about everything about photogrpahy is subjective.  If you like someone’s photography, great. If someone’s photography doesn’t appeal to you, that’s ok too. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to what you like in photography.

Find someone you like and let them mentor you.  If you grow from the experience then it’ll be a good relationship for you and your photography will get better as you study and apply the techniques you learn.

Whether you learn only from free photography websites or you enroll in an online photography workshop is entirely up to you and your comfort zone.

The greatest advantage to the online photography workshop is when you get direct feedback from the instructor. You won’t be able to find that in a book or on a free web site.

Take advantage of their experience and insight and you’ll see your photographic abilities grow like crazy.  Choose your workshop wisely and enjoy the benefits.

If you’re a beginner or new to digital photogrpahy be sure to find a workshop that speaks to your fears and photographic insecurities.  Make sure that it answers your questions and fills your photographic needs.

A beginning photography workshop should address basic camera settings, exposure settings, basic composition and lens choices.  You should also learn about cropping, props, wardrobe and how to use available light to it’s best advantage.

Most importantly, remember to keep it fun.  A good workshop will teach you how to uncomplicate things.  Simple is better.  Find a great photography workshop, get registered and enjoy the ride!

Using art in wedding photography

, Posted in: Photographers, Author: guest (October 28, 2009)

One of the best days to capture on film are weddings. It is such a special event that capturing the events on film is just great.Because capturing those moments in a photo will forever remind those people involved of that special day.In this article we are going to talk about some ways on how to capture that day forever in photos.

As a San Diego wedding photographer I take a wedding job very seriously.I know that day is very special for them so I want to help in my own little way by capturing their special day in photos.  So my first tip on catching that day like art is to take photos that have movement. In a wedding people would alway be moving from place to place. There is a lot of action going on so the trick is to capture that action.

Another tip I can give is to take other shot aside from the standard shots that you would normally take.  Well you do want your expected shots but don’t make that the centerpiece.  As a San Diego photographer I am always thinking of ways to capture the same shots with different angles. That way you can capture the emotion of the event and you can tell the story of the event through the photos. You can have some hardship at first but by practicing you will perfect the trick.

Last tip is to make your photos bigger than life.Because for the people involved in the event this day is bigger than life.  So as a San Diego event photography service I have learned doing big events how to do this.  In other words you don’t just want small pictures. You have to learn to take shots that would be able to make the event much much bigger than what it is.

But of course doing all of these tips would require some artisitc side in you.  But if you understand where I am coming from that wedding day you take will be memorable.  It won’t just be boring pictures in a photo album. But pictures that can tell what happened during that very special day.
