It’s Nice To Have A Digital Camera That Works Well

, Posted in: Photographers, Author: guest (June 18, 2009)

A great camera doesn’t necessarily guarantee great pictures. I’ve seen some pretty amazing pictures taken with cheap little point and shoot cameras. Its true, sad but true. Money may not be able to buy you love and happiness, but it’s also true that it can’t buy you the camera to make you the next Annie Lebowitz. It just can’t. The only thing that can get you to take better pictures, is to learn to be a better photographer.

Good cameras are exactly like that. The complex professional cameras have features and functionality that you really need to understand to take advantage of.

The best ultra compact digital camera for low light images is the Fujifilm F40fd. This camera has everything you need to take perfect images in any low light settings. The camera is stylish and compact making it very hard to resist. The images you capture in a lighted setting are clear and crisp appearing almost lifelike.

One of the nice things about ultra compact cameras like the S51, is their portability. Being able to reach into a pocket quickly, grab your camera and snag a picture at a moments is a nice feature. If it works. Don’t count on catching many of those candid moments with a Coolpix. It tends to take a few seconds to start up once you’ve powered it up, followed by another few seconds after you’ve squeezed the shutter button. Hopefully your subjects are slow (translation… not kids), and don’t go scurrying off the second they see a camera in your hand.

I swear that little Energizer Bunny is subsidizing the camera manufacturers big LCD hype, just to ensure he stays employed forever. I’d gladly exchange a 3 inch LCD for a 2 inch one, if it meant I got 30% more pictures, and a viewfinder thrown in as a backup.

Unfortunately you won’t find those out in the real world, but at least you’ve been warned here first. There are of course plenty of better cameras out there, and not too far from here.

I was already thinking of getting the D90 even though what I really wanted was the D300, because of its weatherproof features and sturdy magnesium body. In the end, however, I decided that it wasn’t worth shelling out the extra $600 just for a better camera body. The D90 and D300 have the same sensor and ISO capability range. Some reviews on Nikon SLR digital cameras say that the D300 pales in comparison to D90 in terms of noise reduction. This camera tips for different scenarios and this best priced slr camera should help.

Which digital SLR camera should you look for when buying a camera? The question has an easy answer if you are an intermediate photographer looking for something more professional than a point and shoot camera. You should look for the SLR cameras that come with at least one lens. The Canon EOS Rebel XTi comes with an 18-55mm lens.
